10th Asia Pacific Region Conference of the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (APRC 2026)

APRC 2026, organized by The Union, the Anti-Tuberculosis Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage (ATAT), and the Thoracic Society of Thailand under Royal Patronage, will be held from February 4–7, 2026, in Bangkok, Thailand. With the theme “Transforming Lung Health and Creating a Future Free of Tuberculosis through Research, Innovation, and Networking,” the conference will bring together world-renowned speakers and experts to share insights and lead discussions on: Tuberculosis research and treatment innovations, Emerging respiratory infectious diseases, Universal health coverage and access to care, Environmental and societal impacts on lung health and Breakthroughs in non-communicable respiratory diseases, including asthma, COPD, lung cancer, and interstitial lung disease. The new 2025 update of An Activist’s Guide to Shorter Treatment for Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis lays out what community advocates need to know about WHO-recommended regimens for drug-resistant TB. The Activist Guide reviews the evidence-base behind these regimens, important considerations for key populations affected by TB, the access landscape, and more. The publication is intended to equip advocates with information they need to formulate arguments and push for universal implementation of the best available treatments.

Annual European Respiratory Society (ERS) Long-Term Research Fellowships

European Respiratory Society (ERS) Long-Term Research Fellowships support researchers and clinicians in the early stages of their careers to carry out basic, translational or clinical research projects lasting between 6–24 months. Fellowship recipients conduct projects at research institutions outside of their home country, enabling fellows to access and learn research techniques that are not available at their home institutions. Long-term fellowships are awarded annually based on scientific merit as well as the skills and experience that fellows can bring to the host institution.

Call for Papers on the Sustainable Development Goals from The Union's Public Health Action

The PHA Editors will consider any manuscript reporting original research on progress to achieving the SDGs. Suitable topics include infection-related topics such as vaccines, infection prevention control, outbreaks and antimicrobial resistance. Non-communicable diseases of public health importance include nutrition, the impact of climate change and planetary health. The journal aims to improve public health practice and we welcome operational research, lessons from implementation and evaluations of public health interventions. We will also consider submissions that focus on issues related to health care access and universal health coverage, quality, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, ethics and equity as well as education and training.
