RSTMH journals: Call for Reviewers

The Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH) journals, International Health and Transactions of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine & Hygiene are currently recruiting new reviewers to help the author community improve their papers and ensure the integrity of that we publish research. Reviewers provide feedback to authors that helps make their paper stronger. The RSTMH is a charity and membership society that has been dedicated to improving tropical medicine and global health since 1907. Our ambition is to save lives and improve health around the world through increased access to and greater equity in global healthcare. Who can become a reviewer? You can be at any stage of your research career, provided you can objectively evaluate the quality and rigour of a research paper. We welcome reviewers from all countries. We also encourage collaborative reviews, where senior researchers review papers in collaboration with junior lab members (note, this must be disclosed in the ‘Confidential Comments to the Editor’ section of the reviewer report form). How to volunteer to be a reviewer? If you are interested in reviewing for us, please send a copy of your CV via email to Thomas.pinfield@rstmh.org, along with a short statement which outlines your research interests/expertise.

The Global Forum on Bioethics in Research (GFBR): Call for applications on ‘Digital footprints and real-time data in the context of health research: ethical issues’

APPLICATION DEADLINE: May 27, 2026 The Global Forum on Bioethics in Research (GFBR) will hold a two-day meeting in November 2026 on the topic ‘Digital footprints and real-time data in the context of health research: ethical issues’ (dates and location to be confirmed). Provisional dates are 17-18 November. The topic scope is described in the Forum background paper. As part of the upcoming meeting, the GFBR is looking for four types of presentation proposals: 1. Real-life case studies that explore ethical dimensions of health research using digital footprints. 2. Conceptual papers that define, clarify, and analyse key moral terms to address ethical dimensions of using digital footprints and real-time data for human health research. 3. Normative papers that provide in-depth ethical analysis or explore unresolved ethical questions related to the use of digital footprints and real-time data in health research. 4. Policy-related papers that address ethical issues that arise from governance or policy matters related to the topic or explore the translation of ethics and value-based decision-making into policy. The background paper provides more details on each type of proposal. We particularly welcome proposals that address the key theme and questions highlighted in the paper, which have been prioritised by the Forum Planning Committee. The GFBR is also seeking participants to attend the meeting, with places awarded on a competitive basis. Awards are available for successful applicants from low- and middle-income countries to cover the cost of their travel, accommodation and single-entry visa.
